Longer ride as I intend to take tomorrow off! Started off with Christine in Old Bar and rode across the old bridge. We went past the Manning River Rowing Club, which we know well as we had many rowing events from there – the Taree regatta each January is a bit of a blaster, usually very windy and hot. Cannot say I miss it, but we had fun there for many years.

Then I went off to meet my new friend, the A1 aka PacHwy. After about 35km I found some gravel, dirt and off road sections. A bit slower than the bitumen, and some fair climbs, but no noise and suction from the traffic. Given my very poor navigation skills, I have really no idea where I went next, but at some stage I stumbled upon the Big Axe, which I think is in Kew (I love that name!). Australia and its obsession with Big Things… I hope the Big Potato in Robbo is surviving BTW. These capitalist animals (LOL!) want to sell it off to build a supermarket or laundrette or something. What would Robbo be without that big blob!?! Save the potato!

Justin was in the Kempsey showgrounds and when I arrived, he said hi and then went for a nap, while I ate my favourite lunch: noodles with a handful of mozzarella. Washing done, electronics recharged. I even got a home-made haircut and had a long(er) hot shower in the public shower. I am such a camper now. Not.
Tonight, we go to the pub – cannot be arsed to be cooking. I am cooked enough. And tomorrow, we sleep in (probably until 7am – lux!), I will probably change the chain and put on a new waxed one, and see why my 5th gear make this annoying rattling noise.

Can you find tune the 5th gear in the app?
Ohh I should’ve pointed the Big Oyster out! We passed it in Taree! 😀 Enjoy your rest day! I am it’s a welcome break.
Hope the pub food has something besides pizza or noodles and mozzarella.
